Causes of Oral Thrush:-

The Candida fungus, which is typically found in small amounts in the mouth, is what causes thrush. However, certain factors can cause an overgrowth of this fungus, leading to an infection. Some of the common causes of oral thrush include:

Weakened immune system: People with weakened immune systems, such as those with HIV/AIDS, cancer, or diabetes, are more susceptible to oral thrush.

Antibiotics: Antibiotics can disrupt the balance of bacteria in the mouth, allowing the Candida fungus to grow unchecked.

Steroids: Steroids can suppress the immune system, making it easier for the Candida fungus to grow.

Poor oral hygiene: Poor oral hygiene can lead to an overgrowth of bacteria and fungus in the mouth, increasing the risk of oral thrush.

Dry mouth: A dry mouth can create an environment where the Candida fungus can thrive.

Smoking: Smoking can irritate the mouth and weaken the immune system, making it easier for the Candida fungus to grow.
